Travel guide

Tatkal booking opens the day before your journey, counted from the train's starting station. Seats go within minutes on busy routes, so share your details with us a day earlier.
IRCTC now uses Aadhaar authentication for Tatkal and some early bookings. Keep the Aadhaar of the person booking and the passengers' details handy to avoid delays.
If an e-ticket stays fully on the waiting list after the chart is prepared, it is cancelled automatically and the money is refunded. You cannot board a reserved coach on it.
RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) lets you board and gives you a shared side-lower berth. It can become a full berth if someone cancels.
Railways now prepare reservation charts well before departure, so you know your status sooner. Check your PNR status after charting and plan a backup if needed.
One passenger on the ticket must carry an original photo ID, such as Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, voter ID or passport. A photo on your phone may not be accepted.

Last-moment bookings are our speciality, but no agent can promise a confirmed seat when a train is full. We try Tatkal, alternate trains and nearby stations, and suggest a bus or flight when that is the better option.
